RareBreedAuctions.com is dedicated to preserving America’s rare and heritage breeds of poultry and livestock. We believe that the best way to save these breeds is to create a market for these animals where buyers and sellers can meet and bargain in a fair and professional environment facilitated by state-of-the-art technology. RareBreedAuctions.com is committed to providing that opportunity to you, the buyer or seller of rare breeds.

Other auction sites created by livestock experts have failed the test of time due to a lack of technical proficiency and poor customer service. At RareBreedAuctions.com, we specialize in raising livestock, but we also make our living in developing and maintaining customer relationships through online communication.

We are committed to building a strong and ethical community that allows members to sell and bid with confidence. We pledge to be responsive, helpful and friendly to our members and guests, and we encourage you to tell us about your experiences so that we can continuously improve our service.

We welcome you to our community and look forward to meeting your needs.

Description

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY AND PLAN YOUR BID ACCORDINGLY

The winner of this auction will receive a pair of Smaaland (1 rooster and 1 hen). Both birds are between 1 to 2 years old.

SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY! By bidding you are creating a legally binding contract. Do not place a bid for higher than what you are willing to pay if you win this auction. All unpaid buyers will be blocked from bidding and reported to the RBA admin.

Your bid acknowledges that you have read and agreed to our terms and conditions (updated November 2020).

SHIPPING

The expected ship date for this auction is the Monday that immediately follows the close of the auction. The winning bidder will receive a confirmation email at the close of the auction. Be prepared to receive your birds within 1-3 days from your ship date. It is your responsibility to schedule and organize the pick up of your birds, so plan your bid accordingly.

PAYMENT

Please pay at the close of auction to avoid a delay in the shipment of your rooster. Please follow the “direct pay with PayPal” link at the close of auction.

The winning bidder pays $100 for shipping. We will ship USPS Priority Express. Orders are not guaranteed to arrive overnight. In the event, the shipping cost is estimated to be more than $100 you will be contacted to pay the difference in shipping cost before the rooster ships. If the shipping is less than $100 you will be refunded the unused shipping cost once the birds ship.

GENERAL INFORMATION

NPIP: 58-1156-E. Your copy of the NPIP VS form 9-3 will be attached to your shipping confirmation email for your records. We will file a copy with the state. This is required.

This rooster and hen have been vaccinated for Marek’s Disease. They were vaccinated on the day of hatch.

The winner of this auction will receive 1 pair of adult Smaaland (rooster and hen). Both birds are between 1 to 2 years old. We will no longer sell Smaaland day-old chicks after we sell our adult birds. This breed is an auto-sexing breed so the chicks that hatch are easily identified as male or female on the day of hatch.

This breeding pair produces offspring of mixed quality, some chicks will hatch from this pair with an incorrect color (brown) so these chicks would need to be culled on the day of hatch. The remaining chicks that have the correct coloration grow out into beautiful birds. Do not bid on this auction if you aren't comfortable with this problem.

Don’t forget to check out our FAQ page.

Thanks for your interest in this auction, and good luck bidding!

RBA Member Code of Conduct

Updated: May 28, 2015
This website is a service intended to benefit our country's livestock and the people who raise it. In order for this community to thrive and achieve our mission, its necessary that all registered members adhere to a Code of Conduct that ensures fair trade. By registering as a member you agree to abide by our Code of Conduct, and any violations of the Code of Conduct will result in being banned from this site and such other legal action as may be required. The Code of Conduct is as follows:

  1. A person may not create multiple accounts.
  2. A seller may not bid on his or her own auction and may not coordinate with family and friends to do so.
  3. A winning bid creates a legally binding contact, and winning bidders are required to pay the seller. If you have questions about an animal being auctioned the time to ask those questions is well before the close of the auction. Doubts, unanswered questions, second-guessing, an unanticipated or sudden change in personal circumstances, or buyer's remorse are not valid reasons for a winning bidder to refuse to pay after an auction closes.
  4. Read the text of the auction carefully before you bid. Once you bid your bid cannot be undone. Your bid is a legally binding offer to the seller, and if you are the high bidder your offer is automatically accepted and becomes a legally binding contract under which you are obligated to pay the seller.
  5. Sellers may not use other people's photos, breed descriptions, or trade names without their express written permission. Copyright violations are not allowed.
  6. Sellers must accurately describe the animal they are selling including the pedigree of the animal.
  7. When giving feedback a person must accurately describe the facts that support the feedback rating.
  8. In order to be valid, feedback must be posted by sellers within seven days after payment is due and for buyers within seven days after the birds or eggs are shipped.
  9. A person may not send profane or harassing messages about an auction.
  10. A seller advertising imported poultry must be prepared to provide a copy of the USDA import permit proving the legal importation of the poultry. Only legally imported poultry may be sold at auction.
  11. A seller or buyer may not use an auction or RBA-related tools to negotiate direct sales outside of an auction. This includes asking buyers to "gift" money via PayPal.
  12. A seller may not pre-sell hatching eggs or day-old chicks with a shipment date more than four weeks after the auction ends.
  13. This is a community. Be POLITE and courteous. If you are rude, you may be asked to leave.
  14. A seller will comply with all relevant government regulations including those related to the shipping of live birds and NPIP compliance.

Thank you for participating in our community. Happy selling and bidding! If you have questions, comments or concerns, please email the store manager.
